Lynn Howard (Lynn Howard)
Hey, I’m Lynn.
Amanda Furgiuele
And I’m Amanda. Welcome to the pursuit of Badasserie: The Podcast. We have another incredible guest.
Lynn Howard (Lynn Howard)
As always, Lynn, tell us all about her. Yes, I’ll ballot. I’m super stoked to have Elle. She is a catalyst for transformation, igniting changes in the lives of women across the world.
She’s a dynamic holistic abundance mentor, founder of the women of the world network, accomplished author and a captivating speaker who takes her clients on transformative journeys of personal growth and empowerment.
She’s also a podcaster. and just so much more. Elle, I clicked as soon as we saw each other virtually.
Elle Ballard (elleballard.com)
We have never met in person, but I’m super stoked to finally have her on Welcome L. Thank you. Thank you so much, Slim.
Having me is so great to be here. Amanda, nice to meet you.
Amanda Furgiuele
And yeah, I’m excited for this conversation. So tell us a little bit about how you got started and what you do.
Elle Ballard (elleballard.com)
Yes. So I, how I got started is it’s interesting story that dates back to the country that I was working in and living in a country, Kazakhstan, had a full-time job and a side business.
And I’ve realized how much I loved having my own business. And then I always wanted to, since I came here to the US, most on 20 years ago, wanted to start my own, but I didn’t know what it was going to be.
New country, new interests, practicing you and gave myself time, went to finish MBA program, worked for several corporate companies and then I was ready to do my own thing.
I was also part of the direct sales before, so got great business experience, practical business experience, in addition to theory.
But then, yeah, I decided to learn something that was really close to my heart, which is the world network.
Lynn Howard (Lynn Howard)
How long ago was that, Elle?
Elle Ballard (elleballard.com)
So we just celebrated five years in in March.
Lynn Howard (Lynn Howard)
That’s incredible. So you launched it right as COVID, essentially it was like starting and happening, and that’s how that’s when we first met.
Like it wasn’t too long. We’ve been in each other’s circles, we’ll say virtually, for about four or five years, because it was pretty young network.
Elle Ballard (elleballard.com)
Yes, yes, yes, yes. We started right before pandemic. Thank you, right.
Lynn Howard (Lynn Howard)
And it’s interesting things how things shifted.
Elle Ballard (elleballard.com)
But yes, yes. And now five years later, it’s just so amazing. I’m so grateful.
Lynn Howard (Lynn Howard)
Absolutely. You’ve done a lot of things in the network and with the ladies of the network. What have been some of the highlights of creating this community of like-minded women, especially in such a need, a time of need of support because of everything that was happening globally and just even like economically, etc.
So, what have been some of your favorites?
Elle Ballard (elleballard.com)
Oh, there’s so many. You know, it’s amazing when you follow your want. That’s inside of you, this desire inside of you.
Even that at the beginning things do not align for the how you see them. It’s just so beautiful. the whole journey, the thing, the fact that we attract this amazing women, I didn’t even realize how it’s going to end up paying.
But then we just had a conference here in California in March and just seeing this beautiful, authentic, you know, we just quality women, truly wanting to support each other.
It’s just something unique and it’s so beautiful and I’m just so grateful to be able to do that. Funny enough, we actually grew during pandemic because a lot of people needing this support, right, looking for the support.
As everyone else, we moved more online to online presence, but we had additional workshops and things that we were doing in the community that really definitely helped support.
We were working in our books. We are launching our book number four in October. All of them international bestsellers.
first, and every book which is about 79 countries women are from. Yeah, it’s just been amazing. And I’m just grateful for what we created together, and what we’ve been still building, of course, continue to build together and continue to grow.
Amanda Furgiuele
I love that. So what is it that you’re working on now that’s new in your company, in your network?
Elle Ballard (elleballard.com)
So a couple of different things. As I mentioned the books, we continue doing the books. But you know, I’ve been fascinated by this, how our energy just works with our whole being, and how that is reflected in everything we do in life.
I’m a dancer, so I’ve been dancing when I was in college, and I just recently, a few years back, I’ve sat up again, and I’ve seen on myself how that just shifts everything I do.
Um, so coming from getting from the from the mind to the body, um, and so I’m working on the additional, this additional way of really helping and supporting women on a deeper level.
Um, and so that’s something that I’m also adding. It’s, uh, it’s called free fulfilled and fabulous, uh, be free, be fulfilled, be fabulous.
Um, and, uh, we really work on everything on the inner freedom. I love talk to talk about inner freedom, which is a whole mindset and everything we, uh, we do.
The out of freedom, of course, fulfillment and, and the fabulousness. Um, you know, it’s just, um, I cannot separate the, the, the three of those.
I think that’s so important. And the big thing, like I said, it’s just the, the energy, how we move in life, how we think, the emotional, um, and all of that is just this experience gave me and prepared me for this next level, um, that I’m working
working on. So I’m so excited to do that, to bring that to the world.
Amanda Furgiuele
Yeah, I love that. I think it’s so important for everyone, but women, especially to really connect and feel that mindset shift and the freedom they have within their bodies and feel connected, because I think it’s easy.
It’s shocking to easily become disconnected from who you are and what you are inside. And I think that’s a fantastic addition.
Lynn Howard (Lynn Howard)
That’s amazing. Well, also Amanda’s a train dancer. I love to dance and believe me, have her element. can shake my tailpth her butt, but it’s Amanda’s train dancer.
So she understands exactly that love. have these conversations too, because having a kid and all that, I know I’m speaking for you, Amanda, but like, you know, you get disconnected, like life takes you away from some of your passions.
And dance has been something that’s been a part of Amanda’s life forever.
Elle Ballard (elleballard.com)
Yeah, it’s just amazing.
Lynn Howard (Lynn Howard)
to me how that also contributes so that’s all connected right so it’s connected to the energy it’s connected to the house and of course it connects to the happiness which connects to the house because we’re just happy and we are it’s just a different vibration um so I think it’s just so needed especially right now was a whole mental challenges that a lot of people are going through everything that’s happening right in all of that so it makes good get out that energy and shake the energy and and women hold a lot of men do too but especially women and this is I don’t know if this is scientific or just woo-woo scientific but women women hold a lot of grief in their hips and a certain type of like yeah grief essentially in their hips and so when you can move that and expand that it really does help you lighten the weight of what you carry um if it’s the weight of the world if it’s the weight of your family if it’s the weight of your
your responsibilities, the weight of the all the monkeys on your back and the skeletons of your closet, it really does help.
Which in turn helps you with your mind, helps you with the clarity, helps you with your life, helps you with direction, helps you with your business, etc, etc.
Elle Ballard (elleballard.com)
Exactly. Yeah, absolutely.
Amanda Furgiuele
And if you want to get scientific when all the women hold the center of the gravity and their hips anyway, so that’s the center of the world, the center of gravity is in your I mean, the way you spin it to the woo woo, but but it still holds true that it is that freedom of movement and that freedom of expression and connection with self is transcendent when you think about how you correlate that with your mindset, because if you are stagnant in your body, you’re stagnant in your mind and whether it stands or just movement in general, there is a connection there scientific and woo woo that you would
really can’t have progress and success and enlightenment or whatever adjective you want to use without both of them connecting.
Elle Ballard (elleballard.com)
Yeah, and as women, we also do so much, like we are able to do so much. It’s just our nature, which is beautiful.
But yeah, but when we exactly but when we can also bring it back to ourselves that directed back at us and just really make sure our own cup is full, we can do so much more.
You know, women who cater to kids, single moms working two jobs, three jobs, building a business. I mean, we it’s just a lot and we are able to do that.
But it’s just important to remember also who we are and give it back to ourselves. Because when we are full within ourselves, we can just really
give back to the world and to ourselves so much more.
Amanda Furgiuele
I mean, Lynn and I were just, we were on our masterclass, we were just talking about the importance of investing in self.
And I’ll say it now because I sit then, I’ll say it any day of the week, is for a long time I thought that concept of self-care and self-expressions was just a weakness, know, needing it was a weakness.
But really, it really comes down to if you can’t invest in yourself and you can’t grow yourself, how do you expect others to invest in you?
How do you expect others to grow under your guidance if you can’t do that for yourself?
Elle Ballard (elleballard.com)
Amazing. And just posted on my Instagram the best investment you can make is in yourself.
Lynn Howard (Lynn Howard)
It’s 100%. It’s 100%. You know, one of the Fs, which we do love our F letter words, especially the letter ones.
But with that being said, one of the Fs that you did not speak about, you speak heavily with women in your community on stage.
is and across many platforms is about financial freedom. And I know that you’re a huge advocate for financial literacy and financial freedom, especially.
And listen, we know we have male followers and we love you. We heart you so much. However, women tend to be less financially independent or literate or just et cetera.
And so I love that you’re an advocate and that through this process, you’re also helping others become more financially free or have more financial freedom and literacy.
Could you tell us a little bit more about that?
Elle Ballard (elleballard.com)
Yes, it’s just so close to my heart. Having experienced starting from point zero a couple of times in my life, in my own life, and you know, it’s just and having to learn to build myself.
up again and again financially including mentally and everything including it’s just so so important for for women to have the knowledge education on finance is just so important.
I think I think we’re living such a great time where there’s so many opportunities to have your money work for you but there is not enough education on how that can be done where people can invest there’s so many vehicles like you know here in the US I don’t know about other countries but you know here in the US there’s so many vehicles we can we can multiply that money and yes business building is amazing yes building that asset is amazing but there’s so know about and in the business of the day you know we get so busy we get okay I’ll do tomorrow the time but
I think that’s where that starts. That’s really important for me. I make my own priority, making money from your business, but also really educating yourself how you can really stay.
There’s all these other sources, big or small, right, that can help multiplies that money. the other thing is the big thing, also talking about building a business, just really treating a business like a business.
I feel like that’s a big one for women, because we all want to give, and I speak for myself as well.
We want to be a nurturer. I’m a mother and a grandmother now. want to give and help and support, but I’ve learned in businesses is a business.
so I have to remember that, you know, treating business as a business, I remember I was speaking to someone and so beautiful, but she was
staring with me how she’s ready to pay for as a services. But she’s really just not so easily ready to ask for money or to ask for that, to tell somebody how much she charges.
And so there is that part as well, that needs to, we need to bring light to that. yeah, and I will finish with just, I think educating ourselves who we are individually.
How we, like what is educating and learning about not all how to invest money, but how we receive and receive and keep money is important as well.
Because we are all through some background stories or cultural backgrounds, cultural upbringing. I grew up in a completely different environment that treated money differently.
know, cultural beliefs, family, all of that influences how we do. I think once we know, who we truly are and how that is, there is money archetype that I love doing as well, individual money archetypes and all of that I think that helps for sure to continue to be that, you know, to thrive in that freedom whatever number that is for you, right, for the proof for the listening.
Amanda Furgiuele
I’m speaking my love language.
Lynn Howard (Lynn Howard)
I love the shock for our listeners.
Amanda Furgiuele
I love talking about money. know that there’s so much, there’s a negative stigma on it. remember when I used to live in France, it was really frowned upon to talk about it and I know in a lot of social circles it in the United States, it’s very frowned upon to talk about money because it’s uncouth.
mean, who talks about money? And I think that’s one of the problems is that nobody is willing to really talk about how you can grow your money, how you can make your money make more money.
there’s just this lack of education fundamentally about how you can spend your money, how you can make money in alternate ways, how you can save money, how you can secure your future and your kid’s future.
And I wish there were, luckily, now I’m seeing more of a dialogue on it, maybe some people I’m surrounding myself with.
But it’s so important, and I think it’s underrated how much knowledge is lacking in that field, especially for women.
And then too, now though. I mean, I’m laughing because of the knowledge that my young nephews and niece have on the subject.
it’s very skewed. There’s a lot of misconceptions about what money can and can’t do and how you invest your money.
And it really is, and I know there’s that whole cliched money doesn’t buy you happiness. Yeah, okay, it doesn’t.
But it buys you freedom. It buys you options, it buys you opportunities. And those things can sometimes get you happiness too.
I mean, happiness comes from within, but it sure doesn’t hurt. So being able to teach people how to grow financially in ways that suit their lives and their lifestyles is so important.
is crucial. No matter if you have a business or not, it is crucial.
Elle Ballard (elleballard.com)
It, yes, yes, yes, I so agree. Yeah, yeah. And if the goal is again, like it depends how much money they want, right?
But even if they don’t, like if they find a happy level, there’s so much, there’s so many venues to be able to help others through that vehicle.
You know, so many things, so many ways. Yes, yes, yes, yes. I love this.
Lynn Howard (Lynn Howard)
Yes, I love this. Absolutely. So you have definitely been on your own pursuit of badassery and obviously paving the path for other women to have their own badassery path in pursuit as well.
So you want to tell us a little bit about the book that’s dropping and what’s the topic.
Elle Ballard (elleballard.com)
Yes, absolutely. And congratulations with your book. I’m actually, I just finished reading it. It’s so awesome.
Lynn Howard (Lynn Howard)
Just finished reading our first book. Yeah. We love that.
Elle Ballard (elleballard.com)
It is the pool. Yes, I was really good at the pool the other day. sent a picture to to Lynn.
But anyway, yeah, so this next one is, you know, we, we sort of created themes. Now we’re on our multi author ontologies and our next one, we’re going to dedicate to mothers and grandmothers professional and in business.
But this one we’re doing for women entrepreneurs. Dedicating it to women entrepreneurs. And I want to feature. Just, just the fact that just, you know, we keep waking up every single day, having enough courage to keep going, no matter what happened And I just want to bring light to that.
I am excited and I intentionally wanted to publish it in October because of the Women Ads premiere day in November so that we can share it with the world.
Lynn Howard (Lynn Howard)
We’ll update the links in your podcast episode because you’ll be coming out before then but we’ll make sure that we have the links in there.
if somebody’s watching this down the road after launch it’ll be in there. So we’re super stoked to help you support that and when are you going to be writing your own independent book?
know we kind of have this conversation one-on-one so I want I want to see you because now you’re releasing your fourth between Amanda and I we released four between the two of us in a couple of years but we definitely have a couple more slated so I think this is kind of like a race like you have your fourth now or even just a good race a fun race I love it.
Elle Ballard (elleballard.com)
Yes I actually in fact started working and we briefly talk talked about it the other day, I started working on it and you know funny enough I’ve been wanting to do it for the few years now and I just keep pushing that you know okay I’ll do it I’ll do it it just seems to be you know writing my own book where do I find time and everything but I feel like this is time now like I feel like this is this is time to do it yeah and I definitely wouldn’t do it around the concept that we talked about being free and being fulfilled doing happy joyful work and being fabulous but yeah that will be that is in the works I can’t wait I can’t wait so hopefully 20 25 we see that book being released so yeah yeah so we know we could talk to everybody forever we’re coming closer to the end is there any other last nugget that you want to leave our audience with about your work about what you’re
Amanda Furgiuele
what’s coming up? Anything you want to share?
Elle Ballard (elleballard.com)
Yeah, thank you again for having me. It’s been, it’s been so great. It’s just having this conversation with both of you.
I just want to say if listeners, if any of your listeners have this wish in them, this desire in them, that they keep postponing, because I know I postponed opening my own business for a few years, because I just kept postponing.
don’t know what it’s going to be. I kept my diary on writing all these ideas, what it’s going to be.
I still have that. It’s funny. It’s just going to go back and reading it. But I think if you have a desire or this want inside of you, it’s just no mistake.
When we have something inside of us, we need to bring it to fruition. And if there is no coincidence that it’s just there.
so starting small all, even if whatever it is, right, in your life doing that, starting small steps, that’s just so important.
Even if you cannot leave your job as an example to start a business, or you cannot go to France to do that tour, maybe, I don’t know, whatever it is, or doing that marathon, whatever it is, I think starting with small steps is so important because that will get get the energy going into that what you wanted to.
But it’s just important to start. And definitely learn that in my own experience.
Lynn Howard (Lynn Howard)
Oh, we agree. We’re just talking about this.
Elle Ballard (elleballard.com)
